Big Girl Bed?

I have some bad news to tell you.  Well I guess I should not start that way.  We are all fine, but the bed we were all dreaming of BellaRose, the rod iron one, is no more!  I know you all were SO excited about it, but it just did not work out.  Too much effort, too much time, too much money, wrong bed rails, crooked frame, etc.  It really would have been awesome, but I am heading in a new direction, one where I am begging my husband to build her bed.  I mean come on, this was his major in college!  He can do this, I know it!  As you know we are expecting again in February and will need BellaRose's crib by then.  BellaRose was sleeping in her crib the 2nd night we were home, not sure what the plan with #2 will be, but I am thinking along the same lines.  BR does so well in her crib and never tries to climb out.  My sister, Angela, always tells me "Don't fix what isn't broken", but now that her crib will be needed I guess it might be time to start thinking about Big Girl Beds!  I am excited to decorate a new room!  I would love for Worth to build her a bed similar to the one on the left but with a higher middle and a little more whimsical looking and I am pretty sure we will ditch the bally things on the ends.  The bedding on the RIGHT is pretty much what I have decided on.  It is gorgeous!  I am real into white right now too so probably warm white walls with all the color coming from the bedding.  So cute, right?!
Nothing to report on #2 right now.  I will be 9 weeks on Friday and as you know things are pretty uneventful in the beginning.  Just the normal things of being pregnant.  Thank you all for your excitement from last post.  It sure does mean a lot to me!  You guys are the best!
Pretty soon we will be celebrating a certain Grandma's 95th birthday!  Can you believe that!  So excited to see that woman!

how exciting! I too am going to request that Chad build our big boy bed so we will watch and learn from Worth's design :-) have you thought about going the toddler bed route first? i LOVE, love, LOVE the bedding!!!! I shall begin thinking about a cute pillow with her name on it in brown....

oh how cute would that be JT!!!! I don't think that I want to go to the toddler bed. I would rather just get her into one kind of bed and that be it. I will just get bed rails for the time being. i love love love the bedding too!

Love all those colors! So maybe I am slow but what are you showing us in the picture on the right?
That would be so awesome if Worth made her a bed! Go Worth! (I'm helping)

You still have some time for BR to get tired of her crib so I wouldn't feel the need to rush her out. I'm sorry the rod iron one isn't or didn't work.. it would have been very cool.. but the white one is gorgous too! I'm sure whatever you choose will be perfect.

I'm so excited about baby #2 too!

Big bummer about the rod iron bed but I know Worth can build something better. You are smart to start encouraging him now. I can't wait to see what he creates. And I can't wait to see BR's new room! Glad to hear that all is well with baby #2 so far. Looking forward to seeing you all soon. XOXO

well i was hoping that you honestly did not think that I was picking a dr.seus theme and primary colors for her room. i like reading dr.seus and all but i don't think that i want to see it 24/7. i am glad you like the other one better. it makes me feel so much better :)

Love the idea, we all know Worth can do it. At least I believe you. How about a trundle bed, both my daughter and Rose had them, for friend sleep overs.

Yes, BR will need a trundle for when the Rylie(s) come over for a visit.

So sad about the iron bed... can you make it into a gate for your beautiful garden?

I hoped you were picking the Dr. Seuss theme with big, oversized pictures and bright colors everywhere. I think it would fit your style perfectly! Just kidding! I love the idea of white walls with the bedding giving the room color -- simple and pretty. I also love the idea of Word making his little girls bed. Now he has to since all these people are ooh-ing and aah-ing over the idea! =)

Oh that is going to be so pretty! That bedding is so so sweet. It is perfect for BR and I can't believe she is big enough for a new big girl room! You are going to have so much fun getting two rooms ready now. At least you're not tearing down a wall and laying hardwood this pregnancy.
I know worth could build a bed. I mean he builds really nice bookshelves out of scrap wood. Surely he can do this.
He also makes really awesome pickles that Nick wants the recipe for.
