1st day of Pre-School

So our little baby girl is off to pre-school this morning.  We will see how it goes.  Yesterday we had "meet the teacher" and new parent orientation.  While we were orienteering (does that word work there, I just like it) BellaRose stayed behind with her teachers.  Well BellaRose was the only one who cried!  Out of a room full of kids, our little girl was screaming.  One mother said to me "did you not prepare her".  YES woman I did!  As much as you can prepare a 2 year old for something that they have NEVER experienced in their life!  Today she told me "I thought about you so much last night", gee thanks! I am sure it was all heart felt, but COME ON!  It started off bad yesterday because just yesterday, for the very first time, she became attached to the stuffed animal she is holding.  Never before has she given this animal a second thought until yesterday right before we leave.  We let her take it in the truck but when we get to school we tell her she needs to leave it, because who would think she would care, never having any previous attachments before to this animal!!!  Well by George she did care and was crying before we even got to the building.  Well today as you can see I let her take him because the 2 year olds are allowed "warm fuzzies".   Does this picture to the left not break your sweet little heart?!  This is in front of her school, although you can't see the school.  Below she is with her new lunch box, and school bag, and of course the yet un-named new favorite stuffed animal!  Her teachers are really sweet and they seem to already love my sweet little girl, if they don't I will beat them up along with a few of my friends!

Some people just don't get it...that lady is one of them. I know BR will come around. It just takes some getting used to a new routine. I'm the same way :)

Oh my gosh! I just love her. What a sweetie. I'm so glad she got to take her warm fuzzy with her today. Preschool is tough! Can't wait to hear how the day went.

Welcome to the world of Know-it-all PTA moms. Ugh! She's too cute. I think between Katie and JTP, this child needs some stylin' totebags to show out. Take that- crazy mom!

How sweet! And how did you do on her first day? When Addie went for the first time last year, I ended up in the parking lot about an hour before pick-up just waiting. Pathetic, I know. They grow up SO fast don't they?

these pictures are priceless. i'm so glad you let her take the fuzzy, these things help a lot i think. will had a really hard time at first too and BB really helped. the first few times of preschool last year, he cried too and got very sad when i would leave, now he loves it. just thought that might help.
they are very lucky to have her and they will love her more every time and i will be in line to put the down if they don't too....and who is that mom, sounds like she needs a woopin?

she had no tears! her teachers did tell me that she did like moving from one activity to the next, the transition was rough. i am the same way though, not a big fan of change! she also would not eat any food or sit down when it was time to eat. i did not expect her to eat food, but I guess we have to work on the sit down part. Not sure how to do that since we do sit down at every meal.

I'm so glad today went well.. and I'm sorry she cried yesterday (which probably scared you about today).. but BR pulled through and showed you she can do this. I'm glad she is allowed "warm fuzzies".. and she can take her "unnamed" stuffed dog in! That is super sweet! Love all the photos, she is just precious!

Oh Sunday - I can't believe she's going to preschool!! So, as you've already learned, other mothers are pretty much nutso - and just ignore them. Or, look at her sadly, and say - I wonder why your kid doesn't miss you? :o) BR is so lucky to have a Mama that spends so much time with her. She will adjust to 'all things' preschool in her own time. What a precious little one!!

Oh my gosh I think I felt every emotion while reading this.
How could that mother ask you that? I am enraged!
I feel like the puppy might be my fault too because I was telling her yesterday morning that Ellen loves her puppies and she went and got that one to show me and I raved about how cool it was that she had real puppies and a cute special stuffed puppy I told her that Ellen loved her puppy! And that was right before you went! Oh man, of all the things!
Thinking of her at preschool makes me just want to cry such a sweetie sweetie.
I will help herd the posse together too if anyone if mean to her I will gladly help beat them up. Ellen and I will gather throwing stars and work on our scissor kicks!
I'm proud of you and BellaRose!!
I guess I just love BellaRose so much because the fact that she wouldn't sit and didn't eat just endears her to me more!

I mean Sunday...she gets more beautiful everyday...this could be trouble for you and worth in a few years :-) i hope her first day was great- i'm sure she did well. And to that other momma you better tell her to keep her parenting tips to herself!!!..or else she'll not be invited to your outdoor christmas movie party!

Who is this woman with her preparation comments? Has she seen the movie Terminator? Worth.

Didn't you prepare her, Sun? Didn't you leave her with strangers randomly? Or just by herself? No? Lord. That silly woman.

I know it's hard to have your kiddo cry (especially when they are the only one)... but man oh man. She's gonna love all the new stuff she's learnin'!
