fun ole fashion family Christmas

So we had our Christmas party this weekend and it was a BLAST! Fun was had by all! We had 2 kinds of homemade chili. Thank you Angela for the amazing green chicken chili. It was a hit and quickly gone. We watched the movie outside by the fire on the side of the house and I have to tell you, it was fabulous. If you have never watched a movie in your backyard before I highly recommend it. I could hardly sit and watch the movie b/c I was so excited about it. I had to capture a picture of Clark and cousin Eddie talking with the moose cups. I almost bought a couple just to have around the house, but they were a little expensive, maybe next year, because I gotta tell you this will be a family tradition for sure. Thank you to all the good friends that came and hung out with us, we sure do appreciate you! It was real nice.

and while we are on the subject of Christmas I have to tell you about the wonderful experience my sister and I had at 1 o'clock in the morning. I was going to turn out the lights on the tree, closing up the shop for the night. As I was backing out of the corner that the light plug is in I sort of tripped, well as I was falling back the tree decided it wanted to join me on the ground. That is right, it fell on top of me. As you know now it is an ENORMOUS tree. This enormous tree also holds a lot of ornaments and drinks a lot of water. Oh man if you could have seen my sister and I scrambling around trying to pick up this tree, hold it upright, clean up the water, and all the broken ornaments on the ground, you might die of laughter. I am sad to say though that a couple of my favorite ornaments did not survive the fall. I was pretty bummed out about that. This is the 3rd time the tree has fallen, the 1st time with all the lights on it though. If it falls again I have to tell you it might be the end of my tree and and the end of my Christmas spirit. Although I might have to ask myself what would Sparky do, AKA Clark W. Griswald.

BellaRose's stats are in from her 6 month check-up. She weighs 14.1 lbs and 26 inches long. She is still a tiny baby and I love it so much. She got her shots and the flu shot. I feel good about it. I know we are doing the right thing for our baby. It could be different for other people, but for us this is good. She seems to be changing everyday. We are working on a third tooth and sometimes I think that causes her issues but for the most part it is just a whole lotta drool!

When I was younger I was roller skating around our tree and crashed into it causing it to fall on me and tons of ornaments to break, my mom came running in because she thought I had skated out the dining room window, so she ended up being relieved that it was just ornaments that broke. It is no fun having a tree fall on you!
But what was fun was that Christmas party It was so exciting, I sensed your excitment! Definitely one of the coolest partys ever!

Dude.
I am SO. STINKIN'. JEALOUS. I looks like a great time. And oh, man... that last photo of Miss BellaRose just about did me in. I love it.

I'm still laughing about the tree. I mean, I'm glad you're ok... but that looked really funny in my brain.

Sunday, have Worth (or you) attach 2 eyehooks near the top of two windows on either side of your tree. This works best if your tree is in a corner with windows. Or you can attqach to molding, whatever. Tie fishing line to one, run it to the other eyehook, having it right up against the top 1/4 of the tree trunk. This cannot prevent it from falling backwards, although for it to fall into a corner is loss damaging, but it will keep it from being easily knocked over. I usually get a mega-tree each year, and now we just leave the tiny eyehooks up year-round. It works great!

What an AWESOME party. You and Worth are so cool...such rockin' hosts with fun ideas and great Christmas spirit. I wish I coulda been there for the chili and outdoor movie. Someday, if I have a house and a husband, we'll do something similar! :) About Bella Rose's health, were you saying that some parents choose not to get the shots for their kiddos? I learn so much from you mamas.

Sunday,Not sure how to email to your blog without posting it this way? Answer about my shop is....Not yet. I haven't posted anything for sale or done anything great with my online portfolio either. Still need to get my butt in gear to finish the legal paperwork for taxes, business id, etc....so that I can start selling! I am just dragging my feet on this part! Thanks for asking though, I will let you girls know as soon as I have stuff up and running! It is really encouraging to me that you are curious.

Such a fun party.
Thank you for having all if us, it was such a great way to get in the Christmas spirit.
So sorry about the tree, you can't give up, you just can't. I will pray that it doesn't happen again so that all hope is not lost. Because, if spirit is gone for the Grant's it might be gone for everyone.
Must be nice to have a "little" munchkin, I only new that for about two weeks.
Was my scale right with BR, I can't remember what it said? Just curious.

Your party was SO much FUN! I loved it. Thank you for opening up your house and yard to your friends. And the food was awesome. I had the chicken chili and was so inspired that I made some tonight for dinner.
I'm sorry about your tree. What a way to end the night. My parents string their tree up with fishing wire too. They've had a crash before.

Hey, that's been the general answer on girls clothes. Good thing I asked otherwise I'd be buying 6-12 months for the summer and 18/24 for next winter! I guess it's just boys...they need to make those clothes bigger!
