Family Ties and flour

Grandma is 94. Grandma is an amazing woman, A-MAZ-ING! She is BellaRose's great grandma and of course her namesake. We are all bound to her. Family ties and history are a pretty incredible thing, one little curve in the road and we would not be, one chance encounter with another person and there could not have been a me, or a BellaRose even. My grandma is rich with history, my history. I love hearing her stories of when she was young. I have a feeling that she was a bit mischievous and never wanted to miss out on a party. Even for her 94th birthday she gets so excited and just glows while her family dotes on her. I love this woman, my Grandma!

This picture to the right is of BellaRose trying to put on my dress. This baby loves things around her neck, any kind of loop hole and it is around her neck. You gotta watch her!

My dad and Taylor singing opera to BellaRose "BeeeelllllaaaaRrrrooosssaaaa". Grandma loving on her birthday cake(I made it and we will talk about all the ways it was so NOT pretty later). Grandma and her boys!

We all love a BellaRose story right? Today's story begins and ends with Self Rise flour. I am back here on the computer checking the 70 emails I had waiting for me from my trip home and Worth is with my sweet girl in the kitchen, we both think that she is being unusually quite and lo and behold she was. I come into the kitchen and she has flour all around her, all over her hands and face. It was about the cutest thing ever, way cuter then her eating dog poop (tell you that one later too). I guess she wants me to make No-knead bread soon.
Once again don't forget to look at the produce section of our blog, we have CORN!!! We ate our first ear of silver queen corn right off the stalk, raw and full of goodness. I can't wait to eat more.

I think the cake looks gorgeous! No one notices the mistakes and oops except the baker:) Our in-laws' corn didn't turn out well at all, glad your silver queen fared better! *sigh* I miss corn!

Yes- the cake look sawesome from afar. And your gma is gorgeous... so sweet. And BellaRose 'cooking'... now THAT is hilarious. It's always a bad sign when it's quiet in there!

I love how your Grandma has her nails all done and she's dressed all cute--That woman does NOT look 94--I refuse to believe that! Pass some of those genes over here!

I love that your grandma is so spunky, she looks so happy to be with all of her family.
I know that she was most happy that you and her namesake were there, you do such a great job of keeping up with her and loving her.
about the flour: she is so your daughter, maybe she actually wants to make the bread, she looks ready to learn.
Can I come over and eat some corn soon? mmmmmmm.

I love how much you love your Grandma and how close you all are...its super awesome. The cake is beautiful. Great job Sunday!
When I see your produce pics I realize how slack we were this year with our garden. All we have now is tomatoes and a few cucumbers. Your corn and carrots look so amazing that I have to live vicariously through your garden. There is always next year right. :)

Fun. I want to meet your Grandma...she just looks fun...and so does Bella Rose. I love that she loves to get in to stuff and what great pics you take to capture those moments. She just needs a baker's hat and an apron and she could be on the cover of your new cookbook. Yep, that is it...you need to come out with a cook/garden/how to do it all and still look beautiful book!

It looks like you guys had a blast. I can't believe you didn't put any clown heads on your Grandma's cake! How could anyone tell it was a birthday cake?

I would love to get some of those tomatoes!

I have posted two almost identical comments and neither have shown up yet. I'm pretty sure they are both going to show up later. That is so annoying.
