The people have spoken

So the people have spoken and I will be keeping the blogs separate but maybe getting a bit more personal on my business blog. I like having discussions and hearing what you think. You all are a smart group of people, we should do this more. I will have another question for you at the end of this post and a little group participation challenge, but first pictures of my girls. It is strange to me that BellaRose has been out of the crib for over a year now. She seems so huge in it when she gets in to play with Hollings. Hollings always loves a little sister time in the crib except when Rosey knocks her over and she hits her head, she does not like that so much.

My goal for my home is to make my house feel like a beach house. Then it is the best of both worlds, a beach house feel in the mountains. These pictures of Rosey sleeping in her bed with the big window and sunlight streaming in makes me feel like I have accomplished my goal in a way. Who doesn't want to fall asleep in the sun on a cold winter day?

So now to my question. How do you feel about music on a website? For the most part I don't care for it because I usually am listening to something myself. After looking at many a photography website, they ALL have music and I have to say to does add to the images. So what do you think? What would your music suggestions be for a photo website. I like the nostalgic feel (Into the Mystic~Van Morrison), the spa feel (Thievery Corporation), the just because I love the song feel (A Sunday Kind of Love- Etta James). Now on to my group participation challenge. I would love to know who reads this blog. I realize people read for different reasons. So for this post only I am asking you to leave a comment, and really who does not love comments? Just even say Hi. Or tell me what you feel about music, or these pictures. It is easy enough to sign in and leave some sort of comment. Even if you are my sisters, or my mom, or my husband!
Thanks everyone!

I like you am not big on music.I usually have my own stuff going on. plus Sometimes with bigger pictures I have noticed it take longer for the site to load and them I just give up. But I do see how it gives something to the pictures. I wonder if you could add a differnt song to a differnt photo shoot? give each one thier own personal "background" so to say.

i like how some sites only play a song when you open the slideshow from a particular event. i typically turn music off whether i'm playing my own or not if it's on the main site.

I am not a fan of music on websites but this is just me. But if you put together a slide show for a customer I think you could add some music to it for their benefit (even if this is on a website) but it would only play if the slide show is going.. again this is just me. I usually turn the sound off since I'm in an office and don't want to disturb the people around me either.

i am not a fan of music on blogs, but I do tend to like it on photography web-sites. It's helpful when you're looking at slideshows. I think it helps if a reader can easily find where the music is playing from and turn it off or turn it down.
Also, I too love the owl PJs.

Hi! I read your blog:o)

I'm not fan of music on a blog or website. But, if it comes on I'm not offended or anything. I do usually turn it off.

I am a fan of those sweet girls and your beach house in the mountains!! Love it!

I'm here. I read.
I almost always mute the music when I get to a website. I find it distracting.

hmm, maybe music when someone clicks to open a slideshow or portfolio, but not when you just land on the site.

If a picture says a thousand words then the music interferes with the conversation.

I agree with most that music usually interferes with my own music and I turn it off, although some on a particular slide show is sometimes very heart warming!

I like music on photography sites. But I used to not when I worked in an office and it would start playing and surprise me and then everyone would know I wasn't working:)
I don't know much about making websites, but is there a way to have a play button for those who like a little tunage:) then your pleasing everyone which is always a good idea, you know, please as many people as you possibly can:) I'm really excited about the new website and I love love the idea of making you house more beach like, I will bring over a collage of shells for your wall later, B/c I know that is what you mean right;)

Did you know I read your blog?:)I like Worth's comment...too funny! I think if you have the music, just have it very visible so people can turn it off quickly if needed. Sometimes I love it and sometimes not. I really think it depends if I like the song. Wow that is no help at all, huh? Love your pictures of those sweet girls!

I read...and I love your blog and your beautiful world. I love what Worth said. Music is often moving, but most of the time I mute it too.

I realize I am about a month behind the gang on this post. But, that's normally how I roll. I check into the blog world and catch up on my favs, especially you BMT gals, all at once. So, I read a good month's worth of each of your posts in one sitting. I am not a fan of music on websites and I can't get enough of your photographs. Keep up the great work, Sunday!
